Your online presence matters. This statement itself explains on how crucial it is in managing and optimizing your professional digital activities as our world is currently revolving around the implementation of a digital era. This has been highlighted by Miss Karen Lim from gradmalaysia with over 120 participants attending her informative talk.

Ms Karen Lim shared a simple yet constructive strategy in enhancing your online presence – “ACE” which means Achievements, Consistency, and Extra Effort. She further explained that the recruiters are keen to know more about what you have achieved, instead of what you have done. Quantifying your achievement is one of the dominant ways in showcasing your skills and achievements at its best. To make sure that you stand out when recruiters are screening through potential candidates, you need to stay affirm, accurate and consistent both online and offline which brings us back to the second step in the ACE strategy – Consistency.  Last but not least, students and future graduates need to put in extra effort in preparing any sort of documents that you are showcasing online or even sent over to recruiters. This simple step will prove how deeply engaged you are in securing a positive image of your own.

On top of that, Miss Karen Lim also urged all students and future graduates to create and utilize a LinkedIn account to showcase and present yourself online in a professional way. She further explained that there is a plethora amount of features that LinkedIn provided in their platform which each gives out different purposes such as Experience, Skills & Endorsements, Recommendations, and many more.

To sum it all up, getting yourself online professionally is a must indeed. Our digital life matters more in this current pandemic situation that is hitting us right now and undoubtedly would be the pillar of our life sooner or later.
