LinkedIn is an American business and employment-oriented online service that operates via websites and mobile apps launched on 5 May 2003.  LinkedIn is a professional networking and career development site that allows job seekers to upload their resumes and companies to post job vacancies.

On TVEX 4.0, Ms. Geraldine from Mondelēz International provided tips and tricks on how to make our LinkedIn profiles more appealing to recruiters. To become more noticeable and acknowledged by recruiters, job seekers should use and understand how to enhance the efficiency of their LinkedIn profiles. During the session, it has been said that one of the essential features of LinkedIn is our profile picture and home page. Recruiters often base their initial impression on the profile photo, therefore our profile should be clear and professional. If recruiters are interested in employing us, they tend to review our home page. This is why it is essential to update your profile with complete information on any experience, events, and awards! To add on, Ms. Geraldine highlighted the need of expanding one’s network through connecting with employees and seniors in the same field of study as us or at the company in which we are interested. This guidance will give us vast leverage on securing future internships and job placement as we already have built the connection. She also shared some of the common mistakes made by newcomers on LinkedIn so that students can avoid them as well!
