A résumé is a challenging undertaking to complete. Before drafting your résumé, you must make an endless number of preparations. You will need a well-written, well-designed, and appealing résumé to apply for job placements and internships. A résumé is a way of gauging your work character and personality in hopes of persuading companies to hire you! Ms. Putri Nur Ameerah, Recruitment Marketing Specialist from RHB Bank, has provided some résumé writing assistance for all attendees. According to her, a basic résumé would comprise personal information, professional goals, education, experience, awards/achievements, abilities, and references.

Ms. Putri suggested that we align our information to employer’s requirements. This is because most companies will strive to find skills that will benefit their company thus, what you can offer them will be quite advisable to incorporate in your résumé. The most important components of revising your résumé are learning about the organization and the job scopes, thus tailoring your résumé to each job application is a good idea.

 

Aside from that, she recommended students to approach their course lecturers or mentors and include them as a referee on their résumé. As quoted by Ms. Putri, “Don’t be scared to try new things with your résumé from time to time to fit the situation.” Take note of the key elements and use these tips to improve your résumé writing skills and increase your chances of landing a job!
